Beth Ann Morrison
One Breath

June 9th through July 31st, 2008
Opening Reception - June 12th, 5 - 8pm

The Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University, in collaboration with Gallery Aferro of Newark present sculptor Beth Ann Morrison and her installation "One Breath" that will completely alter the character of gallery when she takes over the 2100+ square foot space. Using fabrics of varying sheerness and texture, along with lighting, soundscapes and inspired imagery, Morrison invites visitors to wander through maze-like rooms, each representing a different experience and emotional sensation, by constructing spaces that choreograph viewers, inspiring them to contemplate the concepts of peace on earth or paradise. "One Breath" brings people together, through shared experience and by the inclusion of artwork from the public that demonstrates the highly personal, Utopian visualizations from each of the artists. The contributing artists hail from local K - 12 schools, the Midwestern and Southern United States, Haiti, Italy and locales as far as Taiwan. The result is an uplifting experience that is truly inclusive.

Funding has been made possible by the Puffin Foundation.
