People of Newark
Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Archdiocese of Newark

September 8 – October 22, 2003

Message from Archbishop John Meyers

For a century and a half, the people of the Church of Newark have witnessed the faith of the Catholic Church. Coming from every corner of the globe, speaking many languages, they have been and are united in the one Body of Christ. This exhibit illustrates the diversity of the people of the Archdiocese and their unity in faith, worship, prayer, and evangelization. I pray that it may encourage those who visit to emulate the fidelity of those who have gone before, marked with the sign of faith, and who now sleep in the peace of Christ.

Most Rev. John J. Myers, D.D., J.C.D.
Archbishop of Newark
