I. Seton Hall University Library will not borrow or lend the following materials:

Reference Books
-
Whole issues or volumes of periodicals
-
Books in heavy use (popular, best sellers, required texts, books on reserve at SHU, etc.)
-
All CDs and other audio/visual materials.
II. Interlibrary Loan is available to the following patrons:

Faculty, staff and administrators at SHU
-
SHU students (at all levels).
III. Interlibrary Loan is not available to:
-
ReBL users (who may request ILL at their home libraries)
-
Seminary and Law School patrons (use the ILL service at your library)
-
SHU alumni
-
Anyone without a valid SHU ID or email account (library card # or student ID checked when paper ILL requests are turned in,
email account required for submitting online
requests).
IV. The following limitations are suggested:

Up to 10 requests per week may be submitted

Before submitting a request, please check the Interlibrary Loan Request Verification Page <http://library.shu.edu/forms/illverification.htm> to determine whether the material is already available in the SHU Library's collections. Requests for materials in the library's collections will not be processed

Photocopies of specific articles from journals may be requested. Requests for several articles from the same issue of a journal may represent a substantial portion of the publication and should not be requested. You may want to use the material at the holding library or try to purchase the issue

The SHU collections should be checked for alternative titles or more suitable materials

Page limitations are sometimes imposed by other libraries. Articles in excess of twenty pages may not be available from some libraries.
V. Charges:

Charges incurred for books and photocopies borrowed by SHU will be subsidized by the University Library for up to $20.00 per transaction
-
Fines incurred for overdue or lost ILL books will be paid by the SHU patron.
