Subject: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Charter Day - Friday, 24 February 2006

This year’s Charter Day will take place on Friday, 24 February, at 10 a.m. in Jubilee Hall Auditorium. The celebration will feature an address by Dr. Dermot Quinn, Professor of History at Seton Hall, titled "Three Founders and a Vision: Bayley, McQuaid, Corrigan and Early Seton Hall." The program will also feature a dramatic presentation of Mother Seton’s reflections, "Dear Remembrances," performed by Katherine Stout, Class of 2007, written by Angela Kariotis, Class of 2000, adapted and directed by Catherine Zizik, Associate Professor of Communication at Seton Hall University.

The day’s festivities will also include the presentation of the Bishop Bernard J. McQuaid Medal, awarded annually to three long-time employees for distinguished service and wholehearted commitment to the University’s mission. This year’s McQuaid Medalists are:

Secretary, Department of English

Walsh Library will host a reception immediately following the program. In celebration of our sesquicentennial, the University will display the Multimedia Traveling Museum of Saint Elizabeth Seton in the Library. The museum will open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony during the reception. All are invited to visit the museum and to share in the joy of the University’s celebration.
