APRIL 3

Practicing What We Profess
PRAYER.

Ever give me strength, O God, always to act in conformity with Your divine Revelation. Help me always to practice what I profess.

OFTEN, men who have the Name of Christ in their mouths think they believe in Him, yet when trial comes, they are unable to act upon the principles which they profess.

They have thought that, since it is the Christian's duty to rejoice evermore, they would rejoice better if they never sorrowed. Let us be sure that as previous humiliation sobers our joy, it alone secures it.
