PRAYER. During Lent, O Lord, I must make an effort to establish my own course of conduct of prayer and mortification. Help me to live up to my resolutions. |

THOUGH the long season of Lent which
ushers in the Blessed Day of Easter in a
sense quells the keenness of our enjoyment,
yet without such preparatory season, we
shall not rejoice at all.
None rejoice in Eastertide less than those who have not grieved in Lent. Feast day and fast day, holy tide and other tide, are one and the same to them. They do not realize the next world at all. |
