Dear Lord, help me to understand that
whatever happens to me in this life can be a
means of merit for me toward eternity. Give me
the grace to persevere in Your service.
LET us beg of God the spirit of faith and
hope that we may not account Him a hard
master. Let us learn lovingly to adore the
hand that afflicts us and to kiss the rod,
however sharply or long it smites us.
Let us look on to the end of all things and to
the coming of Christ which will at length save us
and not faint on the rough way, nor toss upon
our couch of thorns.
