PRAYER. O Lord, grant me an awareness of the need to pray with regularity. Let Your Spirit prompt me to carry out patterned prayer so that my prayers may be a source of holiness for me. |

STATED times of prayer are necessary, first
as a means of making the mind
sober and the general temper more religious.
Secondly, they are necessary as a means of exercising earnest faith, and thereby of receiving a more certain blessing in answer than we would otherwise obtain. |
