MARCH 15

The Great Virtue of Charity
PRAYER.

Charity, O Lord, is the greatest of virtues. Inspire me with this virtue so that I may truly turn from sin and repent.

REPENTENCE is truly such without love. It is love which gives it its efficacy in God's sight. Without love there may be ol., remorse, regret, self-reproach, but there is not saving penitence.

There may be conviction of the reason, but not conversion of the heart. A great many lament in themselves this want of love in repenting. They cannot abstain from any indulgence ever so trivial, which would be a natural way of showing sorrow.
