PRAYER. During this week we call holy, dear Jesus, let me be mindful of what my redemption has cost You. Grant me true sorrow for my sins. |

DURING Passiontide especially are we
called upon to raise our hearts to
Christ, to have keen feelings of sorrow
and shame, of gratitude, of love and
tender affection, and horror and anguish, at the
review of those awful sufferings whereby our
salvation has been purchased.
Let us pray God to give us the beauty of holiness, which consists in tender and eager affection toward our Lord and Savior. |
