 MARCH 8 God Calms Our Fears |
PRAYER. Almighty and eternal God, trusting in Your mercy I ask for the gift of true repentance. |

WE cannot understand Christ's mercies till we understand His power,
His glory, His ineffable holiness,
and our faults; that is, until we first
fear Him. Not that fear comes first, and then
love. For the most part they will proceed together.
Fear is allayed by the love of Him, and our love sobered by our fear of Him. Thus He draws us on with encouraging voice. |
