The patroness of Seton Hall University remains the first-American born saint in history and her example has inspired interest among adherents, educators and historians worldwide. Along with enduring ties to Mother Seton, the school features various archival resources and popular secondary works on the Seton family who had a direct or circumlocutory impact on the history of the institution and its legacy as a whole. Included among the more prominent figures are William Seton, the second child and first son of Mother Seton, Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley, the first Bishop of Newark (and founder of Seton Hall College in 1856) and Msgr. Robert Seton, grandson to Mother Seton, and a College Trustee during the nineteenth century to name a few. Included here are introductory links which showcase printed, electronic and general historical information on Mother Seton and the Seton family produced in conjunction with our annual Charter Day celebration which honors her memory and the University which bears her name.
