Such real time data as sea surgace temperatures and satellite imagery. There are also virtual resources for a general audience, including thematic maps and field trips.

BiologyBrowser, produced by BIOSIS, is a free web site offering resources for the life sciences information community. Here you can browse subjects (such as the Plants database), organisms (such as Animal Diversity Web), and species specific to various geographical areas (such as monkeys indigenous only to the Amazon).

Federal R&D Product Summaries

National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)

National Institute of Standards and technology (NIST)

NOAA/ESRL Global Monitoring Division
The mission of the NOAA/ESRL's Global Monitoring Division (formerly CMDL) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is to observe and understand, through accurate, long-term records of atmospheric gases, aerosol particles, and solar radiation, the Earth's atmospheric system controlling climate forcing, ozone depletion and baseline air quality, in order to develop products that will advance global and regional environmental information and services.
