Reserves request

Seton Hall University Libraries comply with copyright law (U.S. Copyright Act of 1976, 17 U.S.C, Section 107). When copying material for course reserve, the University Libraries follow provisions of the "fair use" section (Section 107) and considers the factors laid out in that section: The purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes. The nature of the copyrighted work. The amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole. The effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyright work. Only a small portion of the work will be scanned for reserve.
