Seminary Library Book Donations Policy

The Monsignor James C. Turro Library of Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology is happy to receive donations of theological books and journals, books on Church history, Christian spirituality, biblical studies and saints’ lives. However, we do not have the staff or vehicular resources to go forth and retrieve such donations. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the donor to make necessary arrangements for the delivery of the books to the Service Desk in front of the Library Office, located on the basement level of the Seminary building (Lewis Hall). The building has the convenience of an elevator.

Within a month after receiving the books, we will acknowledge this receipt by mail, and our letter can be used as proof of a tax-deductible donation.

As for the monetary value of the donated books, we are not permitted by law to give an estimate. It is entirely up to the donor to obtain an assessment of the donation’s current value, using the means available, including the tax return preparer.

We would appreciate a call in advance of the delivery of the books. During office hours, we may be reached by phone at: (973) 761-9336. or ext. 9198.
