Servant leadership prioritizes the needs of others. This leadership approach developed by Robert Greenleaf emphasizes a service-oriented holistic model of leadership. The characteristics of servant leadership within the context of a primary healthcare setting with the nurse practitioner as both servant-leader and clinical leader are examined in this article.
