Collecting Policy

Unlike the main research library, archives strive for depth in specified collecting areas, rather than breadth across all areas of study. This collecting policy outlines what the Monsignor William Noe Field Archives and Walsh Gallery collect, the criteria used in evaluating potential additions to the collections, and how potential deaccessions from the collections are considered and approved. This information is shared with the community in the spirit of openness and transparency about our internal operations, as we care for these collections on behalf of the entire Seton Hall community.

The full policy can be read below. It covers the archives, museum collections, and rare book collections.
