Love Data Week @ SHU will be February 10-14th, 2025!
The University Libraries Research Data Management team presents Seton Hall’s 8th Annual Love Data Week, from Monday, February 10th to Friday, February 14th, 2025.
The 2025 theme is “Whose Data Is It, Anyway?” Take a minute to think about who owns data compared to who uses data. Different groups - like researchers, the government, companies, or organizations - may collect data. They could own it, share it, publish it online, or combine it. This year's Love Data Week wants us to ask 'Whose Data is it Anyway?' This helps us remember to think about where the data came from before using it. Use this theme to have fun with your audience using data games or game shows. You could also use it to help people learn more about data literacy. Or you could talk about being responsible when dealing with important issues involving data. (https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/web/about/cms/3799)
We will end our week with Douglass Day to celebrate Fredrick Douglass' birthday.
Please stay tuned for more information. Schedule of workshops and events will be updated to this site.
Post to #LoveData25 to share what you are up to!
Happy Birthday, Fredrick Douglass! Please cordially accept this invitation to celebrate Fredrick Douglass’ birthday this Valentine’s Day.
Although Douglass never knew his birthdate, he chose to celebrate every year on February 14th. We celebrate this date as a moment for creating Black history together.
Seton Hall University Libraries and Research Data Services is hosting the Douglass Day transcribe-a-thon as part of collective action to recognize Douglass’ contributions and activism. Please come and join us in celebration of Black history with transcription, fun, and food!
Seton Hall will be celebrating on February 14th, 2025 from 12pm - 3pm. Please RSVP here: https://shu.libcal.com/event/14081572
