A "Thank You" to our donors

“A university is just a group of buildings gathered around a library. The library is the university.” – Shelby Foote

Your gifts support:

students

Students

Students’ needs are the library’s top priority. Your donations help ensure that the library can continue to respond to changing student needs and provide the highest level of services and collections. By expanding and preserving the collections, creating inviting learning spaces, and keeping up with new technologies, the University Libraries have become a go-to resource that helps students to get the most out of their Seton Hall experience

Learning Spaces

The main University (Walsh) Library is a versatile center for the community where students can find study environments suited to their needs, whether they are seeking a relaxed, collaborative space or a quiet refuge from hectic campus life. Your support allows us to continue to improve our spaces and respond to evolving needs.

Technology

Technology has had a major impact on all areas of the University. With your support the library has expanded digital resources, launched a new website, and found new ways to reach out to the Seton Hall community. Digitization of rare materials from Archives and Special Collections has made parts of the University’s heritage, like the recently digitized Galleon yearbooks, available to the entire SHU community.

Collections

By building and maintaining robust collections, the University Libraries are able to provide the University community with the resources to facilitate teaching, learning, and research. Donations help to grow the collections and the monies are put to good use funding acquisitions of new resources, conservation of rare materials in Archives and Special Collections, and resources for our dynamic Gallery programming.

Endowments

Gifts to create or supplement an endowment are a great way to provide long-term support to the Library. An endowment provides funding in perpetuity, so that your gift will continue to benefit the library year after year. For more information about endowments, please visit the University’s Endowed Gifts page.

Planned Gifts, Annuities, and Bequests

If you wish to provide meaningful support the Library while accommodating your own financial goals and plans for your estate, consider making a planned gift. A gift through your will or estate allows you to defer giving and retain control of your assets during your lifetime. Some types of planned gifts, such as annuities, actually provide income to the donor. To learn more about the various options for gift planning, visit the University’s Gift Planning page.
