Quick Start to Using Walsh Library
How to Find Textbooks
Walsh Library does not usually have copies of course text books, but you can check our catalog and InterLibrary Loan for them.
TO SEARCH FOR BOOKS IN THE CATALOG:
- Start here: https://library.shu.edu/library
- Then go to the eBooks or Books tabs under SHU Search
- Type in the title or author
TO BORROW BOOKS FROM ANOTHER ACADEMIC LIBRARY:
- Start here: https://library.shu.edu/library/interlibrary-borrowing and choose the Book Request button in the middle of the page.
- You will be prompted to enter your PirateNet credentials.
- You will then see a PALCI logo at the top. Enter the title of the book. Search results will show you possible matches for the title. Click Request book and you will get an email when we receive the book.

Find, Borrow, Request: Using the Circulation Desk
If you're here at the library physically, feel free to visit our front desk, the Circulation Desk, on the 2nd floor of Walsh Library. You can ask for help here. Additionally, you can check out materials including books and OOMF battery bricks. You can also sign up to use a study room (you will need 2 people or more present), pick up your interlibrary loan books, or ask about how to use our Wellness Room or Prayer Room.
