Accessing Films at SHU

The Seton Hall University Libraries offer several ways to access film:

DVDs

We have a collection of DVDs that can be found by searching our online catalog. Students and faculty can borrow DVDs by requesting the title they would like at the Circulation Desk.

Streaming for the SHU community [Alexander Street Video]

The SHU community can stream films using Alexander Street Video. This service includes Counselling and Therapy Video, Music Online: Classical Music Library, and Women and Social Movements in the United States, 1600-2000.

Streaming for classes [Digital Campus & Kanopy]

The Library offers access to over 17,000 commercial films in digital format through Digital Campus. These films may be viewed in the classroom and must be ordered by a faculty member. The link to the video, if shared with students to view on their own, must be accessed through Blackboard.

Additionally, members of the Faculty can request films for the SHU community. Kanopy streams more than 26,000 films from the Criterion Collection, Great Courses, PBS, and hundreds of other producers. The films range from documentaries, indie and foreign films to classics and blockbuster movies. NOTE: Only films that support the curriculum will be added to the collection.

Streaming individual titles

Films are searchable through our catalog.
