EZBorrow, Interlibrary Loan, and SHU Holds will be held for 10 days at the circulation desk, after that time they will be returned to the lending library or the collection. The following loan periods and fines apply to material borrowed from the library.

Other category includes: PALCI (Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium), Project Acceleration, ReBl, Vale Faculty Borrowing, Consortium of East Jersey and Palinet Academic Reciprocal Borrowing

Circulation Procedures

  • We do not accept cash for Circulation fines/fees. Payment can be made by Pirate Gold.
Guests must pay by check or money order.
  • You are responsible for returning or renewing materials on time.
Books are no longer being stamped with a due date. You are responsible for all material checked out on your card and for knowing the due dates. A receipt with book titles and due dates will be printed if requested when the material is charged out.
  • To view a list of library materials checked out on your account and their due dates, from the Services drop-down menu at the top of this page, select My Account. You may also access your Library Account from within SHUSearch; if on campus, chose "Sign in" on the upper right page of the SHUSearch results page. If off campus, you are already logged in; just select the "folder" option.
  • You may renew books once if they are not overdue. Overdue books must be renewed in person at the Circulation Desk.
  • Overdue notices and statements of fines and fees are sent via e-mail on a regular basis to all patrons with Seton Hall e-mail addresses. You are responsible for checking your e-mail for these notices.
  • Journals do not circulate.
  • Please direct questions to the Circulation Desk (973) 761-9435 | circulation@shu.edu)
