Circulation & Borrowing Privileges

Circulation & Borrowing Privileges

Borrowing privileges are extended to Seton Hall University (SHU) students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community residents.

EZBorrow, Interlibrary Loan (ILL), and SHU Holds will be held for 10 days at the circulation desk, after that time they will be returned to the lending library or the collection. The following loan periods and fines apply to material borrowed from the library.

Circulation Procedures

  • All borrowers are responsible for returning or renewing materials on time and knowing due dates. A e-mail receipt with book titles and due dates will be sent after each transaction.
  • To view a list of library materials checked out on your account and their due dates, from the Services drop-down menu at the top of this page, select My Account. You may also access your Library Account from within SHUSearch; if on campus, chose "Sign in" on the upper right page of the SHUSearch results page. If off campus, you are already logged in; just select the "folder" option.
  • Faculty may renew books twice if there is no pending request.
  • Overdue notices and statements of fines and fees are sent via e-mail on a regular basis to all patrons with Seton Hall e-mail addresses. You are responsible for checking your e-mail for these notices.
  • We do not accept cash for Circulation fines/fees. Payment can be made by Pirate Gold.
Guests must pay by check or money order.
  • Journals do not circulate.
  • Please direct questions to the Circulation Desk (973) 761-9435 | circulation@shu.edu
