SHUShelf FAQs

Where and how do we send in our donations?
  • You can drop off donated books on the SHUShelf Blue Cart which can be found on the second floor of Walsh Library, in front of the circulation desk
  • You can also schedule an appointment with a SHUShelf representative to donate your books personally. For those interested in making an appointment, click this link.
  • You can also drop off donated books at tabling events being ran by members of the SHUShelf team. Make sure to follow our Instagram to stay in the loop with everything SHUShelf-related.
What happens if multiple people want the same book?
  • In the event that we have more demand for (than supply of) a particular textbook, we will go about distributing the textbooks we do have on a first-come, first-serve basis.
What limits exist on our ability to borrow books?
  • Undergraduate students can only donate up to 15 textbooks that are in current use by a Seton Hall professor.
  • The number of textbooks which you can borrow from our collection always resets once you return all textbooks that you initially borrowed from us.
  • For example, if you initially donated five textbooks and borrowed three textbooks in the fall semester, assuming that you return the three textbooks you took out, you can still borrow up to 5 textbooks for the spring semester.
