Items that are 45 days overdue are considered lost and:
- you will receive a bill for the average replacement and processing costs of $150.00 per item.
- you may contact the Circulation Desk (973-761-9435 | circulation@shu.edu) for the actual cost of the item.
- your borrowing privileges will be suspended and a hold may be placed on your library account.
- Seton Hall University reserves the right to hold transcripts and diplomas as a result of nonpayment.
Patrons are not charged for normal wear and tear on library materials. However, the following conditions do not constitute normal wear and tear and may result in repair or replacement charges (charges are determined based on the particular circumstances of each case):
- wet or moldy items
- items damaged by food stains, oily or sticky residue
- items missing pages or covers
- item containing marking by pencil, ink or highlight marker
- items showing tears, cuts, graffiti or other unusual damage
