Add a Librarian to Your Canvas Course

Why? What value would I gain?

Adding a Librarian to your course allows the Librarian to integrate research guides or other library tools to your course shell without having to lift a finger! Examples of when you might want a Librarian added to your course could include:

  • Grading English 1201 or 1202 exercises for the online or flipped classroom modules
  • Posting a discussion board to provide citation formatting guidance
  • Sharing the resource guide on how to get started with citation management tools (like Zotero)

Or otherwise acting as a point-of-contact to immediate student research, information, or library needs.

If you would like to add your Liaison Librarian to your course, this is a great opportunity to encourage engagement with the University Libraries and collaborate with you on instruction or learning materials!

That sounds great! How do I add a Librarian?

Request your Librarian using this request form. (At this time, limited to South Orange and IHS campuses)

You may need to sign-in with your SHU credentials to access the form. Under "What can we assist you with?", select "Request a Librarian to be added to my course".
