Faculty Seminar on Climate Change: Background

The Faculty Seminar on Climate Change was the outcome of a Mission Mentors award to Dr. Lisa Rose-Wiles (University Libraries) and Dr. Jacob Weger (Sociology Anthropology Social Work and Criminal Justice / Environmental Studies). The seminar was held virtually over three sessions, October 26, November 3 and November 9, 2023.  

  • Session 1 included an Introduction by the co-organizers, and presentations by Fr. Joseph Laracy S.T.D. and Marian Glenn, Ph.D.
  • Session 2 presenters  were Jared Best, Ph.D., Thomas Rzeznik, Ph.D., and Michael Taylor, Ph.D.
  • Session 3 presenters were Heinrik Hellwig, Ph.D. and Judith Stark, Ph.D. with concluding remarks by the organizers.
  • Each session was followed by open discussion. The list of presentation topics and abstracts can be found here.

The  2023-24 Mission Mentors Program was sponsored by he Office of the Provost, the Office of Mission and Ministry, and the Office of Board Affairs and University Strategy, in collaboration with the Center for Faculty Development, the Center for Catholic Studies, the Center for Vocation and Servant Leadership, the University Core, the Catholic Studies Program, and the Faculty Development Committee of the Faculty Senate.
