Seton Hall University Research Portal

What?

Seton Hall University Libraries has successfully migrated all former profiles from SelectedWorks to the Seton Hall University Research Portal, powered by Elsevier's new research information management system (RIMS), Pure. Pure will aggregate all types of research outputs (RO) such as press/media, journal articles, book chapters, books, presentations, podcasts & episodes, and more!

All content from SelectedWorks has been migrated to Pure ahead of the retirement.

Pure Portal

The Seton Hall University Research Portal, powered by Pure, is a way to capture faculty scholarship and to ideally provide full-text accessibility. Through connections with platforms such as Scopus and ORCID, it aims to reduce administrative burdens by automatically feeding in ROs from other sources for verification to be added to your very own profile!

This will differ from faculty web profiles as we aim to provide full-text accessibility whenever possible. Your Pure profile will also act as a reference point for your institutional scholarship journey.

You will also be able to verify, add, and update profile information at any time!

Due to a limited quantity of licenses, we are able to offer profiles to all full-time faculty at Seton Hall University. This includes the IHS campus in Nutley, NJ. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility, you may email erepository@shu.edu.

Why do I have another profile?

Your Pure profile seeks to elevate your research outputs, including your scholarship and creative works. This profile is indexed regularly into Google Scholar and standards for discoverability of your outputs are constantly in conversation.

What makes this profile so special?

Pure is customizable to you! Whether you publish journal articles every month or are mentioned in the local news every week, Pure can collect all of your work and ensure it is optimized for discoverability.

Pure will also display PlumX metrics and Altmetrics right on your RO if it is applicable. Typically, this means the work needs a DOI to generate these metrics.

What about the eRepository?

What about the eRepository?

For Seton Hall, the eRepository (aka: our institutional repository) is multi-functional. SelectedWorks profiles were hosted through the repository but moving these profiles into Pure does not eliminate the usage or need for the eRepository. The eRepository will still function as is did before, with deposits and structures to organize the files, as well as being used as the electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) platform and for publishing journals.
