Inclusive Language

Introduction

According to the Linguistic Society of America's (LSA), Guidelines for Inclusive Language, "inclusive language acknowledges diversity, conveys respect to all people, is sensitive to differences, and promotes equal opportunities" (para. 2). At Seton Hall we are committed to being an inclusive institution. If we are to fulfill this goal, we need to be mindful about the language we use. The purpose of this guide is to help Seton Hall to continue to be an inclusive place.
