- Doha Historical Dictionary of Arabic (Doha Institute)Aims to oversee the compilation of a historical lexicon of the Arabic language as it has developed over the last two millennia. Once completed, the final work will detail the origins of every word in its corpus and record the transformations in each word’s meaning, in addition to the location of its first appearance.
Language Support At SHU
- Global Learning Center (GLC)The GLC has two components: workstation area (Fahy Hall 202) or the screening room (Fahy Hall 203B) for small group work, class assignments or directed activities. GLC provides tutoring in French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, Ancient Greek and Russian upon request. Dictionaries, DVDs and books for language learners are available. This is a flexible space for use by faculty and student groups.
